The responsibility for confirmation schools belongs to the Evangelical-Lutheran Church of Finland. SRK and some other organizations have the permission of diocesan chapters to arrange confirmation camps, where the instruction conforms to the outlines approved by the Episcopal Conference. The camps are open to all members of the church.
SRK arranges annually about 50 confirmation camps with more than 2500 participants. One of the camps is for special-needs students and one is a hiking camp. The camps are held at the five SRK-owned camp facilities and the three Conservative Laestadian Opistos.
Confirmation school and homes
Confirmations school is arranged in cooperation with the homes. During the autumn, about 30 regional “home evenings” are arranged for the following year’s confirmation students, and each camp begins with a joint opening event. All parents are invited to attend both of these occasions together with their confirmation students.
